I was surprised to see the white envelope lying on my table. It was delivered by the postman that afternoon, when I came back from University. Cover of the envelope read as "Confidential" and wrote my name and address. It was a long envelope and thicker than a normal one. I was to read the content of the letter. It was beyond my expectation. The latter was came from Sahitya Akademi, New Delhi. It was a congratulation letter, informing me to select my first book for the prestigious award instituted by Sahitya Akademi, for the young writers of the country. My sincere thanks due to the Sahitya Akademi and all the readers of the state for giving me such an opportunity to the arena of the creative writing.
